If you’re creating resources for personal or internal educational use, a license might not be necessary, but if you’re distributing or monetizing, a license is required. [1]

If you plan to share, sell, or publish any materials that include PCS, whether in print, apps, videos, merch or on the web, you likely need to apply for a license. [1]

There are three types of licenses available — all of which require a Boardmaker subscription first [1]

Maker Business: “Companies developing PCS-based software, tools, or commercial products” — “Custom pricing” [1]

"Institution" refers to any educational, clinical, therapeutic, healthcare, or governmental organization, including but not limited to schools, school districts, universities, hospitals, clinics, and care centers that procure and use the Service for non-commercial use by their authorized personnel and direct beneficiaries. Commercial use, reproduction, redistribution, or sale of materials derived from Licensed Content, such as PCS-based products, requires a separate agreement with Tobii Dynavox and may be subject to royalty fees. [2]

It is your responsibility to back up and export any content prior to the end of your license or access period. [2]

If you own a Widgit Symbol product, your licence allows you to use materials within your organisation. If you wish to distribute materials more widely you will need permission. [1]

Their licenses have been arranged so that symbols can be distributed for any not-for-profit purpose within the authority. This includes organisations like schools, social services, hospitals and doctors' surgeries, community centres and scout and youth groups. [1]

These can be distributed without any payment provided the total number of symbols in all resources does not exceed 100 different symbols. [2]

Where the symbols are provided in a different form, either printed or electronically, including on a website, charges may be payable. [2]

Any customer wishing to sell resources containing Widgit Symbols must apply for specific permission. Please note charges may be payable. [2]

Text und Data Mining (automatisierte Analyse von digitalen oder digitalisierten Werken, um daraus Informationen zu gewinnen) des Werkes, nämlich der Software, der Symbolsammlung und von Teilen derselben, sowie eine Vervielfältigung des Werkes für das Text und Data Mining sind nicht zulässig. [1]

Licencja ta uprawnia do wykorzystywania Symboli MÓWik do samodzielnego tworzenia, drukowania, publikowania i dystrybucji pomocy dydaktycznych, tablic komunikacyjnych, książek, planów dnia, materiałów edukacyjnych oraz wszelkich innych opracowań graficznych i fizycznych. [1]

Niniejsza globalna i bezpłatna licencja na Symbole MÓWik NIE DOTYCZY, NIE OBEJMUJE I KATEGORYCZNIE ZABRANIA wykorzystywania Symboli MÓWik w: a) Jakimkolwiek oprogramowaniu komputerowym, b) Aplikacjach mobilnych (systemy iOS, Android i inne), c) Aplikacjach webowych (serwisy internetowe, platformy online SaaS) [1]

Wykorzystanie Symboli MÓWik w celach programistycznych, w aplikacjach lub jakimkolwiek innym kodzie cyfrowym (zarówno w projektach komercyjnych, jak i bezpłatnych/open-source) wymaga uprzedniego zawarcia odrębnej, dedykowanej i pisemnej umowy licencyjnej bezpośrednio z DICO pod rygorem nieważności. Kara umowna za nielegalne użycie symboli w aplikacji/oprogramowaniu IT wynosi 100 000 zł za każdy wykryty przypadek. [1]

DICO SC wyraża zgodę na bezpłatne użycie symboli MÓWik w rozpowszechnianych płatnych i bezpłatnych pomocach, tablicach komunikacyjnych, książkach, publikacjach na zasadach licencji Creative Commons Uznanie autorstwa - Użycie niekomercyjne - Na tych samych warunkach 4.0 [2]

Use by the Member with the Member’s own immediate family members, classroom students, patients, or clients whom the Member personally serves.

The license does not permit broader organizational use merely because the Member works for a school, clinic, agency, company, or other organization.

The Standard Membership does not authorize large-scale public displays, outdoor or permanent signage, public communication boards, or materials installed for general community access. This includes public or semi-public installations in schools, parks, hospitals, playgrounds, community spaces, and similar locations.

Upload Digital Assets to a shared drive, template library, learning-management system, website, marketplace, social platform, app, design platform, or other third-party service in a way that permits extraction, reuse, editing, or broader access.

Use Digital Assets to train, fine-tune, evaluate, prompt, or supply data to an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system.

When the membership ends, access and download rights end, and the Member may not create new materials or materially revise existing materials with previously downloaded assets unless another written agreement permits that use.

AAC Team Member: means the person or persons who have access to and insight into the User Data. This access is given to communicate with the AAC User, to support their communication with the AAC User, and to monitor the AAC User’s progress.

With all Plans, except for the ‘Proloquo Teacher’ license, the Application may be used on the device(s) owned or in use by each of the AAC Team members.

Upon the termination or expiration of the active Plan, regardless of the reason thereof, the right of the Users to use the Application immediately ceases.

All Makaton intellectual property (IP) belongs to The Makaton Charity.

Your licence gives you permission to use these materials, but they are licensed to you, not sold to you.

Pyramid also holds Copyrights related to our workshops, products, Pics for PECS images and other materials that are not permitted for commercial use. [1]

In accessing the Website you agree that your use of LessonPix materials is limited to within your classroom, practice, or family. [1]

Materials and images that may be downloaded may not be distributed beyond the licensed uses (Classroom, Caseload and Family) without prior approval. [1]

Specifically, the products Unique Learning System, Inspire, News2you, SymbolStix PRIME, L3 Skills, and Positivity allow for materials to be downloaded and/or printed for use in the classroom by the Customer. For avoidance of doubt, the content of any such downloaded or printed materials remain the exclusive intellectual property of Everway and are subject to the restrictions stated in this paragraph 4.4. sub-license, sell, rent, lease, transfer, assign, distribute, display, disclose, or otherwise commercially exploit, or otherwise make the Product(s) available to any third party except the Authorized Users [2]
